Galazia Akti Residence, Anavyssos, Greece

Perched on a slope of Anavyssos, only a few meters from the legendary former Onassis residence, the private resdidence unfolds as a contemporary retreat deeply rooted in the Attic landscape.

The architecture is conceived as a composition of low, linear volumes that step naturally with the terrain.

Rather than imposing a singular monumental gesture, the house fragments into interlocking planes, allowing the topography, olive trees, and distant Aegean views to shape its spatial experience.

Landscape design follows a Mediterranean logic: native olive trees, low shrubs, gravel paths, and natural rock formations weave the architecture into the hillside. Terraced retaining walls and floating steps subtly guide movement without disturbing the terrain’s authenticity.
The interior language is intentionally calm and essential. Vertical timber screens subtly articulate space, filtering light while maintaining visual fluidity. The living room, organized around a linear fireplace, frames panoramic views of the Aegean and the surrounding hillside settlement. The dining area aligns axially with the courtyard tree, establishing a deliberate visual connection between ritual, nature, and gathering.
The roofscape becomes an inhabitable layer. Planted surfaces and shaded pergolas create elevated outdoor rooms, offering protected spaces for dining and relaxation with uninterrupted sea views. From this vantage point, the residence becomes part of the broader coastal panorama—discreet, grounded, and deeply integrated with its surroundings.
