Kellert Tables

Year:
2024

Project Title:
Kellert Tables

Typology:
Side Tables

Location:
Athens, Greece

Kellert Tables are sculptural side tables designed by Pieris.Architects and developed in collaboration with Marmyk. Crafted from discarded marble offcuts and fractured stone fragments sourced from quarries and fabrication yards, the collection emerges from imperfections, cracks, and material surplus traditionally considered unusable. Each piece transforms raw marble masses into collectible objects suspended between geology, artifact, and furniture.

Rather than concealing fissures and irregularities, the design embraces them as traces of time and natural formation, allowing fractures, veins, and asymmetries to define the identity of each table. The result is a series of monolithic yet fragile compositions that evoke archaeological fragments and eroded landscapes.

By repurposing damaged and leftover marble, the project proposes a quieter and more sustainable approach to collectible design, where imperfection becomes the primary aesthetic language and material waste is reimagined as a contemporary artifact.
