The building’s topography reflects conscious decisions to provide high quality apartments on the upper levels, while the conceptual blending of architecture and yoga creates a unique experience for guests, residents and visitors.
For this project, a multifaceted environmental strategy was implemented. Designing such a spiritual environment comes with a clear obligation to produce a building with minimal carbon impact that respects the environment, serves as a sustainable tourist destination and enhances residents’ quality of life.
The meditation approach became the foundation of both residences and the hotel. From Kundalini, Kripalu and Kivamukti to power and yin yoga, residents and guests take part in a holistic experience of the philosophy and benefits of various physical, mental, and spiritual practices.
The lower ground level accommodates rooms for meditation, aerial and hot yoga, as well as a spa and fitness centre, whereas closed, semi-enclosed and outdoor spaces for private or small group sessions can be found in all levels.
Facing the street, all flats and hotel suites include generous floor to ceiling windows, outdoor terraces and small private gardens strengthening communication with nature.
The back façade consists of an irregular pattern of extruded window blocks which are positioned in relation to the function of the internal spaces.
The footprint of the building offers a diverse set of residential unit sizes. On the rooftop, a large pool designed for aqua yoga classes is inserted as a microclimate-moderating water element in the green surroundings.
Exercising yoga or not, the building improves the residents’ lifestyle and wellbeing through the design of warm and calm interiors, the selection of eco-friendly materials and the rich plantation on the terraces and around the building, offering a green oasis in the urban fabric.
