The project involves the comprehensive redevelopment of two adjoining urban buildings into a refined mixed-use scheme comprising six residential apartments and two ground-floor retail units.
Conceived as a layered architectural intervention, the design combines the complete refurbishment of the existing structures with the addition of a carefully articulated and intergraded extension.
The existing buildings underwent full structural upgrading, internal reconfiguration, façade restoration, and complete replacement of building services. Inefficient layouts were transformed into well-proportioned contemporary apartments, improving circulation, daylight penetration, and spatial clarity. Historic elements such as the red decorative bricks in the façade, were retained and restored where appropriate, ensuring that the architectural memory of the buildings remained legible while meeting modern performance standards.

Internally, the six apartments are designed as calm urban retreats, defined by material warmth, spatial efficiency, and understated elegance.
Open-plan living areas maximise natural light, while bespoke integrated joinery ensures functional clarity without visual clutter.
Materiality plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere. A deep, textured grey envelope wraps both spaces, creating cohesion and a sense of calm sophistication.
Against this darker backdrop, natural materials like herringbone timber flooring and dark-stained wood furniture introduce warmth and tactility.
The colour palette remains disciplined and intentional. Rich greens, charcoal greys and warm timber tones are layered with restrained black-and-white artwork, allowing focal points to emerge without overwhelming the composition.
The bedrooms are all warm, tactile and sculptural with different layouts and architectural details.
Deep navy chevron-patterned walls create a bold architectural statement. Adjacent to the sleeping area, a freestanding sculptural bathtub establishes a seamless dialogue between bedroom and bathing space,
Bespoke geometric timber feature wall forms the focal point, composed of faceted panels in varying tones of oak that create depth through shadow and subtle contrast. The composition transforms the headboard wall sinto an architectural installation rather than a decorative backdrop.
