Oxygen complex is a pioneering development located in Marousi, just opposite the Olympic Stadium Complex and amongst Athens’ premium business hubs.
The building plays home to four levels of airy, well designed residences that mark the introduction of the first BREEAM certified residential development built in Greece. It offers simplexes, duplexes, maisonettes and penthouses with a unique layout complemented with refined amenities.
Beyond the design of a low-energy building we reinvented and ultimately created a new sustainable modern urban lifestyle. Distinguished by its sculptural finesse, the building creates a heightened sense of place and sensory experience to the residents.
It forms a conduit connecting elements and powers of nature with the future needs of a sophisticated, busy inhabitant. Galvanized by the post-pandemic residential needs, we introduce a new living environment: one that is ecological, inventive, resourceful and comfortable.
The façade is envisioned as organic white stripes wrapped around tree-shaped columns. It delivers a cohesive architectural language with organic flowing forms, echoing the elements of earth, water and air that represent a new, rarefied type of residential living, one that is built around improving the quality of life of the residents through design, top-quality craftsmanship, and thoughtful layouts.
The building is designed to adapt to the ever-changing patterns of contemporary life. The interiors of the apartments are versatile, while the home offices create conductive and functional working environments.
Oxygen is one of the very few BREEAM certified residential buildings in Greece. It boasts low maintenance and energy consumption costs and puts an honest and deep focus on wellness. The building as it weaves up from the ground, its folds creating small private gardens to grow flora and herbs for each unit. The result is the merge of the residential building with vertical landscape that sits directly on large private and communal gardens.
An alluring special feature is the impressive double-height central entrance, designed to become the threshold of the outside world and the house.
The residences feature open plan layouts, large storage spaces and polished hardwood flooring with underfloor heating. The large window openings invite abundant beams of light into every home.
The interior design integrates seamlessly into the sculpted nature of the building’s exterior, illuminating elegant yet relaxed interiors.
The communal open air and double height sheltered gardens consist of a rich tapestry of indigenous colorful plants, and circular platforms that float as islets on the landscape serve for different functions and are used for physical exercise, outdoor home offices and spaces to socially connect the residents when they are at home.
At the same time, our vision was to set along with the project developers, a new standard for the contemporary post-pandemic residential design in Greece.
Establishing the first BREEAM development in Greece, Oxygen, an ambitious multifaceted living complex in the coveted Marousi area, marks another pillar for our work as a point of reference for sustainable architecture.
