Strogili is Stamatis Kraounakis vision to create a themed park for children where music is combined with ecology. The children have the opportunity to play and at the same time learn about music and ecology.
The design of the park aims to reflect Stamatis multifaceted personality and talent as a musician, music producer, lyricist, writer and director.
All building, structures and infrastructure pursue have zero-energy consumption and a powered by renewable energy sources. The park and its facilities are all constructed with recycled or natural materials that brings a strong sense of culture, materiality and context into this new community.
Considering the flow of space and children’s cognitive movement, we created the masterplan that consisted of a route through a series of ‘follies’ and play areas, that corresponded to our narrative. The ‘follies’ were interactive musical art installations-toys that would use renewable energy, whenever current was required.
The design of the Park encourages active play such as running, jumping, climbing, kicking etc., sensory play such as touching different textures, smelling flowers and plants, hearing different musical instruments and sounds, tasting edible plants and fruits, seeing things with different perspectives and angles, surrounded by beautiful shapes and colors.
The concept for the master plan is the imaginary story of the Musical Pea Tree. The park encourages creative play, singing, drumming, and dancing as well as imaginative play such as dressing up, make-believe, and role play.
Play houses, installations and follies are powered by renewable energy and make sound when children interact with them. Social play as such as walking, sharing, cooperating, taking turns and playing sports is also encouraged.
The park becomes a space for activity and interaction that encourages exploration and play. A place that would evoke a sense of freedom within a hinted and loose organization that would give the visitors points of reference.
